{"id":2871,"date":"2021-01-15T12:08:52","date_gmt":"2021-01-15T12:08:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/marendeepwell.com\/?p=2871"},"modified":"2021-01-15T12:08:52","modified_gmt":"2021-01-15T12:08:52","slug":"oerxdomains-reclaiming-the-joy-of-edtech","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/marendeepwell.com\/?p=2871","title":{"rendered":"OERxDomains&#8230; Reclaiming the Joy of EdTech"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I am really excited (just like <a href=\"https:\/\/bavatuesdays.com\/oerxdomains-the-wonder-twins-of-edtech-conferences\/\">Jim Groom<\/a>), because something special is happening in April&#8230; as <a href=\"https:\/\/oer21.oerconf.org\/\">OER meets the Domains Conference<\/a> in what I hope will be a really awesome two days! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cue ALL the hashtags, #OERxDomains, #OER21 and #Domains21. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;ll be a lot of work to pull this together and I am thrilled that we have a whole team of Co-Chairs to make it happen: Heading up the Domains strand are Lauren (Brumfield) Hanks and Jim Groom and leading on the OER side are Lou Mycroft, Louise Drumm and Joe Wilson. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From a main stage which should host some of the most exciting voices in Open Education, to a whole range of fringe events and activities to connect, network and hangout with old and new friends&#8230; I think this is one of the most exciting things I am going to be working on in 2021.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Submit your ideas<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference will put the spotlight on both the value and limitations of Open Education in a (post)pandemic world.&nbsp;We are particularly keen to hear from people who have an interest in the following indicative areas of practice:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Theme 1<\/strong>: Openness, care, and joy in the times of pandemic;<\/li><li><strong>Theme 2<\/strong>: Open Education responses to surveillance technologies and data ownership in education;<\/li><li><strong>Theme 3<\/strong>: Open in Action: open teaching, educational practices and resources, how you might be using Domains and other tools;<\/li><li><strong>Theme 4<\/strong>: Shifts in agency and creativity as empowerment of learners and educators;<\/li><li><strong>Theme 5<\/strong>: Open Source Tools: infrastructure, cloud environments, targeted teaching tools.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Wildcard proposals that specifically address the conference themes in relation to open practice, research and policy are also welcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Call for Proposals is now open&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/go.alt.ac.uk\/CfP21OERxDomains\">https:\/\/go.alt.ac.uk\/CfP21OERxDomains<\/a>&nbsp;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Deadline for submissions: 31 January 2021<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"> <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I am really excited (just like Jim Groom), because something special is happening in April&#8230; as OER meets the Domains Conference in what I hope will be a really awesome two days!
